The content for this book is organized in seven sections, as follow:

The chapters in the section talk the embedded device market, Windows Embedded product family and Compact 2013 product information. While the content in this section is not technical, it's useful and can be important to know and understand the markets for Compact 2013 and the different Windows Embedded products available from Microsoft.
· Section II: Development Environment and Tools
This section talks about the development environment, Platform Builder, target device and remote tools for testing and debugging.
· Section III: Compact 2013 Operating System Design
This section talks about Compact 2013 OS design with hands on exercises to develop a new OS design, configure, build and download the resulting OS runtime image to a target device, and debug the OS image running on the device.

This section talks about application development with chapters for the following:
