Typically, in a home or industrial automation system, all devices that acquire data using sensors aren’t connected directly to the Internet but they use an internal gateway. This internal gateway can be a normal or industrial PC with a Windows Embedded Standard operating system where the broker runs. The broker receives all messages from the devices and loads them to the Cloud. On the same machine there is a subscriber application that can act as monitoring system to show sensor values to a final user.
