1. Start a second instance of Visual Studio 2012
2. File—>Add—>New Project
3. Navigate to Visual C++/Windows Embedded Compact/SDK1
4. Choose Win32 Console Application and call it HelloSDK
5. Generate the project
6. Set the project to be built in Debug mode (default).
The project is a typical Hello world style console app:
